PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the ratio of the display area of a liquid crystal display device and to reduce the cost of a portable terminal device by making the thickness of the terminal device thinner than that of a conventional practice. SOLUTION: It is possible to fix a liquid crystal display device and peripheral devices by using screws 200 without forming the forming parts of the screws on the front surface of the display device while providing mounting holes 160 on side faces of the display device. Thus, the ratio of the display area of the display device is enhanced and the thickness of the display device is reduced than in the conventional practice and, moreover, since an attaching part for the mounting holes is eliminated, the weight of the display device is reduced. As a result, the liquid crystal display is suited to a portable display device.
