PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar display device in which power consumption is reduced as much as possible while conducting partial display. SOLUTION: Boundaries of three source dirver sections 70-1, 70-2 and 70-3 and the boundaries of a displaying region and a nondisplaying region during a partial display are made coincident and supply of driving power to signal line driving circuits 70-2 and 70-3 in the nondisplaying region is stopped so as to reduce power consumption.
