A Rotary Pulse Jet Engine in which combustion chamber acts as a miniature jet engine to provide thrust , consists of a rotor rotating within a closely fitting outer housing , has at its perimeter fully sealable variable volume combustion chambers (see diags.) access to which is through an inlet port and valve , and which are fitted with pistons , whose function is to aid in intake and compression of fuel in an adiabatic process and not transmission of power as in conventional engines , the pistons are then locked in place via ratchets or other systems and the fuel ignited by spark plugs fitted in the combustion chambers and which rotate with the engine , the expanding gases are then released through the valve (which opens simultaneously or fractionally after ignition ) of a shaped nozzle , propelling the rotor forward , the rotor is fitted to the main shaft and enabled for unidirectional movement only.
