PURPOSE: To provide a catalyst which can maintain a catalytic activity without lowering an oxidation catalytic activity of palladium oxide and which is durable to high temperatures of >=800 deg.C. CONSTITUTION: An object is attained by applying previously a washcoat layer of alumina or zirconia to support a catalyst on a palladium-lanthanum type complex oxide catalyst having a molar ratio of palladium oxide and lanthanum oxide of 1:2-2:1. |
