PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly connect a hammer case of an impact driver to a housing. SOLUTION: This power tool is provided with the housing 1 which is a connected body of divided pieces 1a, 1b enclosing a motor 4; an inner case 2 enclosing a planetary gear for moderating output of the motor; and a hammer case 3 enclosing a striking part for converting the rotation of a transmission shaft 18 of the moderating planetary gear, into striking force. A groove 26 formed by the inner case 2 and hammer case 3 in the state of the inner case 2 being fitted into the hammer case 3 and inserted in the housing 1, to bite into the surface of the inner case 2 from the surface of the hammer case 3, is formed crossing between the divided pieces 1a, 1b of the housing 1. Bosses 8a, 8b for connecting the divided pieces are formed in the housing 1, and these bosses 8a, 8b are inserted in the groove 26. Mutual positioning of the hammer case, inner case and housing can be easily performed, and the hammer case is held not to slip out of the housing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
