PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chamfering device and a chamfering method by which chamfering can be executed without depending on the skill of a worker and a time required for executing chamfering work can be shortened. SOLUTION: The chamfering device 5 is provided with a chamfering tool 1, a chamfering tool driving part 51, a chuck 52 as a holding means for holding an optical lens L, and an adjusting means 53 for adjusting pressing force of the optical lens L to the chambering tool 1. The chamfering tool 1 has an elastic body 11. A domy part 111 of the elastic body 11 is formed into a hemispherical shape having the arcuate face constituted of a single curvature radius.
