The motor vehicle reformer system has a reformer (10) to convert hydrocarbon containing fuel (22) into a hydrogen gas-rich reformat gas (28) in a reaction temperature, and a cooling mechanism comprising a copper heat sink. The fuel comprises gasoline, diesel and/or alcohols. The cooling mechanism is arranged for the cooling of the reformat gases to a corresponding discharge temperature pertaining to the temperature requirements of a downstream acceptor. The heat sink is arranged to absorb heat energy extracted from the reformat gas and to deliver absorbed heat energy at a later time. The motor vehicle reformer system has a reformer to convert hydrocarbon containing fuel into a hydrogen gas-rich reformat gases in a reaction temperature, and a cooling mechanism comprising a copper heat sink. The fuel comprises gasoline, diesel and/or alcohols. The cooling mechanism is arranged for the cooling of the reformat gases to a corresponding discharge temperature pertaining to the temperature requirements of a downstream acceptor. The heat sink is arranged to absorb heat energy extracted from the reformat gas and to deliver back the absorbed heat energy at a later time. The heat sink; is arranged at 100[deg]C for the resistance to deformation of plastic molding parts, and/or for preventing an excessive displacement of combustion air supplied to a motor arranged downstream to the acceptor; exhibits a geometry of ribs-, lattice-, and/or tubular-structure, which maximizes the surface of the heat sink; stands in direct or indirect contact with the reformat gas; and has a thermal mass for taking up a part of a heat energy extracted from the reformat gas, and a medium, which changes its state of aggregation by the heat energy.
|
