PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hot-rolling equipment and a hot-rolling method using the same by which the efficiency of rolling is improved by reducing the idle time of a hot-rolling mill even when a controlled rolled material which is required to wait for cooling is included. SOLUTION: After rough-rolling a first slab A with a reversible hot-rolling mill 3, the slab is cooled to a temperature at which controlled rolling is possible by a cooling system 4, simultaneously a second slab B is rough-rolled with the reversible hot-rolling mill 3 during this cooling and. after the rough rolling, held and cooled to the temperature at which the controlled rolling is possible with a holding device 2, simultaneously the first slab A is fed back to the reversible hot-rolling mill 3 and finish rolling is performed. Furthermore, a third slab C is fed to the reversible hot-rolling mill 3 and rolled and, after completing the rolling, the second slab B is fed to the reversible hot-rolling mill 3 and finish rolling is performed.
