An image processing system is provided with a CCD (102) for outputting a video signal; an edge extracting section (109) for extracting an edge signal from the video signal; an ineffective edge estimating section (110) for estimating an edge signal caused by a noise component based on the video signal; an edge correcting section (111) which performs coring process and correction to the edge signal, based on the edge signal caused by the noise component; and an edge emphasizing section (112) for performing emphasizing process to the video signal, based on the corrected edge signal.
