The image playback system has an image source, which supplies digital R-, G-,B-video signals by a R-, G-, B-line pairs (7,8,9) and a communication signal (SDA). The communication signal denotes the transmission of the configuration data or the modified data. The image source transmits the data by a line pair (7) of the R-, G-, B-line pairs in a data storage unit (16). The system has a unit for recording the data provided in the data storage unit in the program memory, if the unit does not detects transmission error.
