The yarn twisting machine comprises working places (20) having a treatment device (5), which provides steam over a central steam supply line (10) for thermal treatment of running yarn (2), and a mechanism for supervision of running yarn and a switching unit for evacuation of the treatment device. The steam supply line is switchable by a pneumatically operated interconnected stop valve (11). The supervision mechanism is held by the running yarn in a position in which the control units of the mechanism actuate, so that the stop valve holds in a shifting position. The yarn twisting machine comprises working places (20) having a treatment device (5), which provides steam over a central steam supply line (10) for thermal treatment of running yarn (2), and a mechanism for supervision of running yarn and a switching unit for evacuation of the treatment device. The steam supply line is switchable by a pneumatically operated interconnected stop valve (11). The supervision mechanism is held by the running yarn in a position in which the control units of the mechanism actuate, so that the stop valve holds in a shifting position, in which the supply line is connected with the treatment device. The treatment device is locked while changing the supervision mechanism of its position in an interruption of the running yarn on the basis of missing of yarn tension. The supervision mechanism actuates the control units so that the stop valves close and open the switching unit, which is formed as mechanically or magnetically operated cover flap. The stop valve is formed as a magnet valve. The supervision mechanism is connected with a trip valve as control unit by which the stop valve and the switching unit are controllable. The trip valve is integrated into a control so that a compressed air supply is controllable with the stop valve and the switching unit through its connection of the trip valve.
