A method for preparing an adhesive for a blood bag label is provided to accomplish strong adhesion to a blood bag having a great number of surface irregularities and formed of soft polyvinyl chloride, to maintain such strong adhesion for a long time, and to facilitate handling of blood bags. A method for preparing an adhesive coated on a label attached to the surface of a blood bag comprises a step of mixing a main adhesive, a supplementary adhesive, an additive and a curing agent. The main adhesive is formed of an acrylic ester copolymer having strong adhesion to PVC forming the blood bag, tackified with the lapse of time, and resistant to high temperature and moisture during sterilization. The supplementary adhesive completely penetrates into the surface irregularities of the blood bag and comprises 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, hydroxypropyl methacrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, lauryl methacrylate or polybutene, polyisoprene, butyl rubber, styrene isoprene styrene rubber or styrene ethylene styrene rubber. The additive comprises an acrylic copolymer based on 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, butyl acrylate or methyl methacrylate so as to increase the adhesion by blocking the plasticizer of the blood bag to protect the coating layer of the adhesive, thereby increasing the adhesion. The curing agent forms a three-dimensional network structure with the main adhesive, supplementary adhesive and adhesive through a strong urethane or urea bond, thereby imparting excellent adhesion. |
