A method for producing a polypropylene false twist yarn is provided to improve the tactile sensation and the elastic property of the polypropylene false twist yarn while preventing broken filament pieces and hairiness from being generated. A polypropylene filament(1) is supplied by a first feed roller(2). The polypropylene filament is heated by a heater of 120-160°C. The heated polypropylene filament is cooled by a cooling plate(4). The cooled polypropylene filament is false-twisted at a twist ratio of 1.25-2.5 by a false-twisting machine(5). The false-twisted polypropylene filament is passed through a second feed roller(6) at a draw ratio of 1.4-2.0, and passed through a third feed roller(7). The processed polypropylene filament is treated with an oiling agent, and then wound around a winding drum(9). Further, an overfeed rate by speed difference between the second feed roller and the third feed roller is 6.0 to 12.0.
