PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic stop and start controller for an internal combustion engine capable of restarting the engine more speedily than a conventional device. SOLUTION: When engine stop conditions are satisfied, fuel injection is not performed at fuel injection timing immediately thereafter and at next fuel injection timing, and fuel injection is performed at next fuel injection timing. Consequently, fuel is supplied into a cylinder in a compression stroke while the engine stops. When engine restart conditions are satisfied, simultaneous injection for all the cylinders is performed at the time to start ignition starting from the cylinder in the compression stroke while the engine stops. |
