<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for efficiently decoding data obtained by encoding profile information of an object. <P>SOLUTION: In an alpha map encoder, alpha map encoded information obtained by encoding alpha map signals in units of a plurality of blocks obtained by dividing a square region set for every frame of the alpha map signal, and label encoded information obtained by encoding label information indicating a label representing whether the pixel assigned to a block includes only the pixel of an object region, only the pixel of a background region or both pixels in the object region and the background region.
