<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module which is excellent in versatility and cost reduction since it can be connected to a plug of a commercially available optical fiber connector even without using exclusive components and can be optically coupled to an optical fiber with high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The optical module 41 of the present invention is provided with a module main body 42 and an optical element 81. The module main body 42 has such a shape and dimension that coupling to the plug 21 of an optical fiber MT connector is made possible by using a guide pin 31 used exclusively for the MT connector and a clamp spring 36 used exclusively for the MT connector. The optical element 81 is provided on the module main body 42 and optical axis alignment is performed when the plug 21 is coupled to the module main body 42 by insertion of the guide pin 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
