PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the developing position of an air bag developing in a curtain shape sidewards of a passenger of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A front seat expansion chamber 44 and a rear seat expansion chamber 45 are formed in an air bag body 31. A restricting expansion chamber 46 is projected from a communicating chamber 43 for communicating the front seat expansion chamber 44 and the rear seat expansion chamber 45. At first, the restricting expansion chamber 46 is expanded and developed with the gas ejected from an inflator. Next, the front seat expansion chamber 44 and the rear seat expansion chamber 45 are expanded and developed. The air bag 1, in the developed state, sandwiches a center pillar 12 with the front seat expansion chamber 44 and the restricting expansion chamber 46 so as to stabilize and hold the position. |
