PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clarify the base sequence of a gene related to the good or bad prognosis of neuroblastoma, and to provide its genetic information and information related to the function of a protein which is the transcriptional product of the gene. SOLUTION: The prognosis of human neuroblastoma is assayed, and cDNA libraries are made from a good prognosis clinical tissue and a bad prognosis clinical tissue, respectively. About 2,400 clones are cloned from two kinds of the cDNA libraries and then classified on the basis of the good prognosis of human neuroblastoma or the bad prognosis of human neuroblastoma. A gene whose expression is increased only in the good prognosis clinical tissue of the neuroblastoma, and its mutated gene are found. Their amino acid compositions and base sequences encoding the amino acid compositions are clarified. |
