PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a varnish inspection device that can inspect varnish for defects when printing transparent varnish on a piece of paper.SOLUTION: The varnish inspection device includes: a lighting unit 3 continuously emitting light to a piece of paper 1 diagonally from above; a line sensor 5 on an extension line of a specular reflection 4 to receive the specular reflection 4 of the light emitted from the lighting unit 3 to the paper 1; and a control unit 6 inspecting printed varnish for defects based on an image read by the line sensor 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
