PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser drive circuit which drives semiconductor laser elements 1a and 1b operating on different target operating voltages, switching the laser element from one to another and is reduced in power consumption. SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser driving circuit is equipped with a power supply which generates two different power supply voltages +Vcc and +Vdd at different levels, a power supply voltage switching means 2a which switches a power supply voltage from +Vcc to +Vdd and vice versa corresponding to the target operating voltage of the semiconductor laser elements 1a and 1b, and a current amplifying unit 100 which feeds a drive current to the semiconductor laser elements 1a and 1b by the use of a switched power supply voltage so as to enable the semiconductor lasers 1a and 1b to operate on the target operating voltage respectively. |
