Lime granule bricks prodn. - by mixing twice comminuted slag with lime and/or cement

Lime granule bricks are obtd. from granulated slag by the sand-lime brick process. Slag is employed which has been twice comminuted in a roll crusher and has a proportion of size =0.2 mm of 15-50 wt.%. The lime (as CaO) comprises 6-9 (>-9) wt.% of the mixt. which may also contain 1-20 wt.% of cement. The lime and/or cement, with the required amt. of water, are mixed thoroughly with the granules until the granules are completely. Lime granule bricks are obtd. with excellent compression strength and better sound and heat insulation, contg. the usual amt. of lime and/or a higher proportion of cement.
