发明名称 LADLING METHOD FOR MOLTEN MAGNESIUM ALLOY
摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent the entry of produced sludge into molten metal during refining thereof by refining the base metal of the Mg alloy dropped by melting into a crucible by addition of a flux thereto and allowing the remaining sludge to settle then sinking a partitioning device of specific construction into the bottom part of the crucible and ladling out the molten metal. CONSTITUTION:A partitioning device 1 which consists of a partition plate 5 provided with many small holes 4, legs 3 and a pair of handles 2 and is made of stainless steel SUS430 or the like which does not form oxide scale even at a high temp. of about 700 deg.C is prepared. On the other hand, an Mg alloy is charged into a crucible 6 made of SUS430 which is heated red hot to melt the alloy at 700 deg.C. When the charged base metal drops completely by melting and the molten metal attains 680-700 deg.C, a flux such as MgCl2 is added thereto to refine the molten metal. The sludge which is produced during the refining and is deposited on the crucible wall and the bottom is removed and is further the molten metal is left stainding to allow the slight sludge and flux to settle in the bottom. The device 1 is sunk gently into the bottom of the crucible 6 by using a jig 7 for setting, then the molten metal is ladled with a shank or ladle while the entry of the sludge and flux is prevented by the device 1.
