PURPOSE:To prevent failure at the tip of a tap by performing the machining while giving the tool return revolutions intermittently using a rotational mechanism for the tool holder and a swing mechanism which provides a reciprocative rotation including a reverse rotation quicker than the revolutions produced by said rotational mechanism. CONSTITUTION:While the oil hydraulic motor 2 is in operation and motor M out of service, the coupling shaft 3 and motor casing 5 rotate round the axis X1 and the axes X2, X3 rotate accordingly, and a gear 9 rotates being pushed by a roller 8 to turn the tap T in forward or backward movement for the purpose of carrying out tapping. When only motor M is operated, by contrast, the coupling shaft 3 does not rotate, and the output shaft 5a and round-column link 7 rotate round the X3, X2, and accordingly the gear 9 makes reversals in the swinging motion being pushed by the roller 8 to allow the tap T to carry reversals in a certain specific motion in the direction fore and aft, where reverse rotation will cause a quick return motion. When the two motors are driven, a 180 deg. regular rotation is alternated by 90 deg. reverse rotation, where the tapping is carried out during regular rotation while splash is exhausted during reverse rotation, and failure at the tip of tap is thus prevented. |
