PURPOSE:To read efficiently and exactly only a character on a form on which a character and a pattern are mixed, by using a facsimile. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with a command of a control part 600, a picture signal receiving part 100 receives a compressed picture signal 8 transferred from a facsimile transmitter (not shown in the figure). Subsequently, it is transferred to an EOL counting part 200. After the transfer is completed, the EOL counting part 200 detects an EOL code 83 of all scanning lines contained in the compressed picture signal 8, in accordance with a command of the control part 600. Also, a bit number (hereinafter called a bit position) extending from a head 81 to each EOL code 83 and its number of scanning line (number) are counted. Also, they are made to correspond to each scanning line and stored in an EOL map memory 320 of a memory part 300, and simultaneously, the compressed picture signal 8 is stored as it is in a compressed pattern memory 310. |
