The invention relates to a device for classifying fish according to their thickness. On the basis of a known device, which has a grid-like working field which is arranged in an inclined manner and has conveying channels which are driven in an oscillating manner and have guide elements which form a diverging gap on their bottom, it is proposed that the cross section of the conveying channels be asymmetrical. In this way, the proportion of wrongly classified fish, especially those of the smaller size in each case, is reduced.
