Infinitely variable clamping-disc mechanism

In an infinitely variable clamping-disc mechanism, a driving shaft and/or a driven shaft has two clamping discs connected rotationally in a non-positive manner to the shaft in the direction of rotation. At least one clamping disc is arranged cardanically with respect to the shaft and is mounted in a manner which allows it to be tilted through a small angle relative to the shaft. In addition, at least one clamping surface is slightly right conical and the clamping surfaces of the pair of clamping discs have their smallest parallel axial gap relative to one another in a clamping region and, upon rotation of the pair of clamping discs, the said gap brings about clamping of the members transmitting the torque.
