A link plate for the endless conveyor chain of a drying unit, especially for short pasta, has a plate body (5) on which lateral cheeks (8, 508) are provided to prevent the dried material from falling off laterally. These lateral cheeks (8, 508) are fixed on the plate body (5) with the aid of a connecting device (23, 14, 114, 414) which, to permit a compensatory movement in the event of forces acting on the lateral cheeks (8, 508), has a spring (14, 114; 414) which stresses the foot part (9, 309) against the plate body (5). <IMAGE>
