PURPOSE:To enable fast control or continuous switching, by connecting one end of an in-phase voltage regulating tap winding to the connecting point of two-phase of a perpendicular voltage regulating tap winding having no in-phase voltage of its own phase, and connecting the other end to an exciting winding. CONSTITUTION:Both tap windings 4 and 5 are connected respectively to the perpendicular voltage regulating thyristor group 6 in which two sets of thyristors are connected in reverse-parallel with each other, and the in-phase voltage regulating thyristor group 7, and the center of a series winding 8 is connected to the line end of the common winding 3 of a regulating transformer 1, and also, both ends (U, V, W) and (u, v, w) of the series winding 8 are connected in series to the line. One ends (X1, Y1, Z1) of the in-phase voltage regulating thyristor group 7 of the regulating transformer 1 are connected to the connecting points between phases of the perpendicular voltage regulating thyristor group 6 having no voltage of an in-phase component of its own phase, respectively, and the other ends (X2, Y2, Z2) of the in-phase voltage regulating thyristor group 7 are connected to one end of the exciting winding 9 of a series transformer 1.
