PURPOSE:To improve the durability and the sliding performance of a bearing and prolong its life by forming a diamond-state carbon film on the movable contact face. CONSTITUTION:A diamond-state carbon film 3 is formed on the internal face of a bearing metal 2 which is mounted inside a bearing body 1. The diamond- state carbon film 3 is also formed on the face of a shaft which is inserted in the bearing metal 2. Since the diamond-state carbon has the Vickers' hardness of more than 3,000kg/mm<2>, the possible wear on the movable contact face can be minimized by covering said face with this film.
