PURPOSE:To avoid to bring a base material into contact with a seal member at the inlet, and to prevent the base material from breaking and damage by providing a multi-stage non-contact type fine gap seal at the inlet of a vacuum room when a continuous evacuation-degassing treatment of a long laminate base material is performed through a vacuum room and an impregnation treatment is successively performed. CONSTITUTION:The inlet 2 of a vacuum room 5 is sealed by means of a multi- stage non-contact type fine gap seal arranged in the transferring direction of a base material 1. The fine gap seal contains e.g. blocks of upper and lower sides and forms a narrow gap between them and the base material l is transferred without being brought into contact with these blocks. A pocket is provided between sheets of each stage and is connected to a vacuum source through a path. Each pocket is made step by step into a higher vacuum toward the vacuum room 5. The outlet seal of the vacuum room 5 is pref. constituted of a pair of nip rolls 6, a seal roll 7 and a fixed seal member 8. In addition, a pool for the impregnation liq. is pref. formed at the outside gap of the pair of nip rolls 6. |
