PURPOSE:To obtain the gamma-butyrolactone in high yield and in high selectivity by subjecting 1,4-butanediol to an oxidative dehydrogenation reaction under a mild condition. CONSTITUTION:When 7-butyrolactone is produced from 1,4-butanediol in the presence of molecular oxygen, a catalyst containing platinum and a bismuth compound is employed. |
