PURPOSE:To eliminate an interference of an already-mounted component and a grip when a component is mounted by a method wherein when the grip holds a component, a means for recognizing NC data decides the form of the component to be incorporated and when chuck pawls are unused, the unused chuck pawls are opened. CONSTITUTION:A grip 13 of an insertion part 31 is provided with a plurality of groups of chuck pawls, which hold a component in opposition to each other, and the plurality of groups of the chuck pawls are arranged in parallel in such a way that the chuck pawls can be respectively opened and closed independently. When the grip 13 holds a component, a means 11 for recognizing NC data in a data control part 10 decides the form of the component, which is fed from a component feeding means, on the basis of the NC data. When the chuck pawls are decided to be unused, the unused chuck pawls are held so that they are opened. Thereby, when a component is mounted on a substrate using the grip 1, an interference of a component already-mounted on the substrate and the grip is eliminated and the component mounted on the substrate can be mounted at high speed. |
