PURPOSE: To provide a developer residual amount detector by which torque due to a wiping member is reduced in a light transmission type developer residual amount detector applied fro a compact developing device and a processing cartridge. CONSTITUTION: The wiping member 17 is formed by bending as shown in figure, and while the wiping member 17 is wiping a transparent window 13a on an upper side, it is not allowed to come on the transparent window 13b on a lower side. Thus, load applied on a stirring mechanism is made to be half as compared with the time of simultaneously wiping the upper and lower transparent windows 13a and 13b. When the wiping member 17 moves in a reverse direction, it wipes only the transparent window 13b on the lower side, so that the load on the upper side is not applied. By this constitution, the load of the wiping member 17 received from the transparent windows 13a and 13b and the developer on the surface of a window is made to be nearly half. |
