The device has a winding shaft (3) and two sliding ring bearings. One bearing has a catch, acting in axial direction, for the coupling journal (6) of the winding shaft. Due to this, the second bearing acts as compensation bearing to accommodate a relative axial movement of the two coupling journals. The bearing has bearing surfaces (13) in one section (7), which are straight in axial direction. The largest part of the arched or spherical coupling journal fits positively into the bearing surfaces. Each journal has convex coupling surfaces, and the bearing surfaces may be concave.
