<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the withering of a tissue caused by browning and to enable the mass-production of paphiopedilum by culturing a scape apical bud, etc., of a paphiopedilum stock in a medium containing a phytohormone to effect the clone proliferation of the paphiopedilum. SOLUTION: Crossed sections are prepared by dividing an aseptic bud or shoot prepared by sterilizing the surface of a scape apical bud or an axillary shoot originated from the flower bud of a paphiopedilum stock of flowering stage and/or preflowering stage or an aseptic shoot such as a 3 to 5-foliated seedling obtained by aseptic culture. The sections are cultured in a medium such as a liquid medium containing a phytohormone such as naphthaleneacetic acid or kinetin, capable of diffusing or adsorbing a proliferation-inhibiting polymeric substance produced from the culture product such as polyphenol and holding a solid supporting member such as rock wool.</p> |
