PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the irregular rotational feeding of an endless belt such as a paper feeding belt so as to prevent irregularities in an image by eliminating a foreign matter entering space between the endless belt and a roller in a belt driving device so that the rotation of a driving roller may be surely transmitted to the endless belt. SOLUTION: This belt driving device 19 where an intermediate transfer belt (endless belt) 10 is laid round a plurality of rollers 14, 15 and 16, and is rotated and fed by the rotation of the driving roller 14 is provided with cleaning means 82 and 83 removing the foreign matter entering the space between the roller 14 and the belt 10 by elastically pushing a cleaning blade 86 against all over the width of peripheral surface of the roller 14 or the inner surface of the belt 10 by the biasing of a blade holder 85 or the elasticity of its own.
