A cylindrical base part of a dental implant can be implanted in the jawbone and has a blind bore to receive an implant post. The outer surface of the base part is structured with spherical cup-shaped elevations at least in areas of the surface. The elevations have preferably a shape similar to that of a blackberry and the base diameter of the elevations is 0.5-5 (particularly 1-2) mm, with a central height of 0.2-2 (particularly 0.5) mm. The base part is preferably made from titanium or titanium alloy.
