The at least one continuous steel belt (1) runs over deflector rollers (2,3) and has transverse conveyors with inward and outward transfer units (5-7) operated by a control system, and positioning and deflector conveyors for coded containers. The top and bottom stringer (1a,1b) of the steel belt (1) act as the conveyor, with the inwards and outward transfer units on the outside of the top stringer (1a) and on the inside of the bottom stringer (1b). Connecting conveyors (16) at both ends of the steel belt join the top and bottom stringers into a continuous loop.
