PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently enhance deodorizing effect in deep freezing and cold storage chambers by juxtaposing a photocatalyst carrier carrying photocatalyst and an ultraviolet lamp at an air channel passing through an evaporator in the freezing and cold storage chambers. SOLUTION: The deodorizing apparatus 4 comprises one unit of an ultraviolet lamp 4b interposed between a pair of photocatalyst carriers 4a and 4b. The one or a plurality of the units are installed at an air channel, i.e., a suction part passing an evaporator. When a flow of the air is generated near an evaporator 3 by a supply fan in the apparatus 4, the air containing offensive odor is adsorbed with the odor upon passing of the carrier 4a, and then deodorized by photodecomposing actions of the lamp 4b and the photocatalyst and exhausted. Deodorizing effect at this time is scarcely affected by a temperature. And, the odor is not adsorbed to the evaporator 3 itself. |
