TOLL RECEPTION SYSTEM FOR TURNPIKE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC-card based toll reception system which eliminates the need of a complicated procedure when a vehicle is forced to get out of a turnpike or transfers from one turnpike to another. SOLUTION: For the toll reception system for a distance-based turnpike which uses an IC card with a paying function and the function of a pass ticket, an IC card processor is installed at each toll gate. At an entrance toll gate, route information is recorded on the IC card 20 of the user. At a forcible getting-out toll gate in the case of closure to traffic, the passing route information recorded on the IC card 20 is read out to perform a toll receiving process and forcible getting-out information is recorded on the IC card 20. At an entrance toll gate of a re-entering road, the passing route information on the IC card 20 is read out to calculate the toll and when the forcible getting-out information is recorded on the IC card 20, discounting processes by vehicle kinds are performed by referring to a forcible getting-out discount table.
