PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for ink jet recording which contains a basic dye, retains a brilliant chroma, and does not corrode a metal part. SOLUTION: This ink at least contains water, a basic dye, and a pH regulator comprising at least one compound selected from among compounds represented by formula (1) (wherein R1, R2, and R3 are each H or an alkyl group optionally partly substituted with OH), formula (2): MOH (wherein M is a monovalent metal), and formula (3): ACO3 (wherein A is a monovalent metal or an ammonium-containing group). |
