THERMAL INSULATION COATING MATERIAL FOR CARBON- CONTAINING REFRACTORY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal insulation coating material for carbon-containing refractories which prevents the surface oxidation of the carbon-containing refractories during high-temperature heating and forms a thermal insulation layer. SOLUTION: The thermal insulation coating material for the carbon- containing refractories is prepared by adding a liquid binder at 20 to 170 mass% in outer per cent to a refractory material containing hollow refractory particles in which the content of the hollow particles is 50 to 97 mass%, a portion or the whole of the balance is clay and the content of the clay is <=30 mass%.
