摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine having a burning heater by which the thermal damage of the intake system structure of the internal combustion engine can easily be prevented, the low temperature startability can be improved even when the compression ratio of the internal combustion engine is lowered, and the warming-up of the oil can be accelerated. SOLUTION: The burning heater 17 and an intake pipe 29 of an engine 1 are connected together by a combustion gas introduction path 35, whereby the combustion gas from the burning heater 17 is introduced to an intake system through the combustion gas introduction path 35. For this introduction, an exhaust gas cooler 84 for cooling the combustion gas passing through the combustion gas introduction path 35 is mounted on the combustion gas introduction path 35. Further the internal combustion engine comprises a bypass passage connected to the combustion gas introduction path 35 in a bypassing manner to the exhaust gas cooler 84, and further comprises a passage switching device for guiding the combustion gas of the burning heater 17 to an engine body 3 through the bypass passage in the starting of the engine 1 when the outside air temperature is 15 deg.C or less. The heat radiation of the exhaust gas cooler 84 is received by an oil cooler to warm the engine oil.
