PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a printing system to inform a character string defined by a user as a message just before starting printing for the case when wrong paper is set to a printer or when paper is not set. SOLUTION: This printing system stores printing data from a printing application 10 in a spooler 12, performs scheduling and executes printing processing. A part of information sets a message defined by a user which is included in a character string as a parameter. Printing data corresponding to the parameter in the message is extracted from printing data prepared by the printing application before printing, the parameter in the message is replaced with the printing data, and the replaced message defined by the user is displayed on a displaying means.
