PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a silver halide photosensitive material which can improve reproduction of a black printer without lowering the reproduction of white, when an image with area gradation is to be formed, by controlling the content of gelatin on the face of the photosensitive material where a silver halide emul sion is included to a specified value or smaller. SOLUTION: In the silver halide photographic material having silver halide emulsions having at least four kinds of different color sensitivities on a support body, the content of gelatin on the face where silver halide emulsions are included is controlled to 10 g/m2 or less. The different color sensitivity means to such a degree, that the image dye formed by developing a specified silver halide emulsion does not accompany formation of another image dye to be produced by developing a silver halide emulsion substantially having another color sensitivity. For example, IR-sensitive and UV-sensitive emulsions can be used as well as normally used blue-sensitive, green-sensitive and red-sensitive emulsions, and an emulsion can be selected from among the four kinds of emulsions and used.
