PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve lightfastness of a dye derived from a cyclic azole dye forming coupler and to enable color rendering performance to be kept for a long period by using a constitution of a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a support. SOLUTION: This silver halide photographic element comprises a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a support for holding a composition of the cyclic azole dye forming coupler and a stabilizer represented by the formula, in which R1 is an alkyl or cycloalkyl or alkenyl or aryl group; R2 and R3 are each an H atom or a substituent; L is a covalent or divalent bonding group; X is an atom or atomic group of O, SO, SO2, or the like; Y is a hydrogen bond donor, such as CONH, NHCO, NHCONH, SONH, SO2NH, or NHSO2; Z1 and Z2 may each be an optionally substituted 1-3C alkylene group; and (p) and (q) are each an integer of 0-4.
