The invention relates to a packaging element (1), especially an envelope, an insert page or an inset for printed products, especially magazines, consisting of a multilayered sheet part (2) made of paper, film or cardboard, in which a receiving compartment (5, 5') fitted with a window for a substantially flat insert product (6) (product sample or inserted item) is integrated, wherein the sheet part comprises a front page (8), a back page (9) connected to said front page and an intermediate element (10) fixed to the back page (9), wherein the intermediate element (10) is only incorporated in a partial area of the mutual bearing surfaces of the front (8) and back (9) pages and forms a blocking element that only partially impinges upon the periphery of the insert product (6).
