PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a write once type phase change type optical recording medium and its recording and reproducing device capable of easily controlling recording and deletion (write protect). SOLUTION: This invention provides (1); a phase change type optical recording medium including a PMA (Program Memory Area) including address information of a first session and not including disk ID information, the first session comprising bits, a write one type part comprising grooves (guide grooves) and at least a recording layer on a substrate; and (2) a recording and reproducing device for the phase change type optical recording medium for reading an address of the disk ID information on the PMA and the address information of each session and including a control function for permitting the recording and erasure of data to/from a session whose address information is recorded after the address of the disk ID information and inhibiting the recording and erasure of data to/from the sessions other than the session above. |
