PURPOSE: A communication service system is provided to interconnect with telephone subscribers in an adjacent building without a separate exchange by constructing a local communication center after setting buildings in an area as a service object. CONSTITUTION: A communication service system comprises a plurality of local communication centers(10) and a metro communication center(20). Each of local communication centers(10) is installed at a building in an area where building are dense, and is connected to a private branch exchange of each building in the area via a dedicated line. Telephone subscriber information of all buildings in the area makes a database. When each subscriber of each building inputs a telephone number, each of the local communication centers is connected to the metro communication center(20) via the dedicated line. The metro communication center(20) is connected to one or more centers(10) via the dedicated line. When a telephone call is required from a specific center(10), the metro communication center(20) controls so as to connect a telephone line to a competent telephone office(40) via an exchange(30) and perform a telephone call.
