PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that can rationally select a carrying speed through optimum acceleration/deceleration to carry an original to an image read position so as to reduce a time until the reading of the original is started without causing a problem such as a step-out thereby enhancing the safety and the image forming productivity of the device. SOLUTION: The image forming device is characteristically configured for the control such that in the case that a sensor closest to and at an upper stream to a read standby position 219 is turned off when carrying of an original is stopped, after the original is carried up to the read standby position 219 in a way of reaching a steady state fastest, the carrying of the original is once stopped only when the present original carrying speed differs from an original read carrying speed, the original is carried again in a way that the steady state is reached at the original read carrying speed. On the other hand, in the case that the sensor closest to and at an upper stream to the read standby position 219 is turned on when carrying of the original is stopped, the original is carried in a way that the steady state is reached at the original read carrying speed. |
